Our Partners

Our partners are essential to us being able to provide an inclusive place for LGBT+ people to play football.

Strategic Partners

Sefton UNISON

Mersey Marauders and Sefton UNISON entered into a new two-year partnership in 2023. They are a trade union that shares the clubs values and we’re excited about the mutual benefits of this partnership in the coming years.

Sefton UNISON have over 4,000 local members, working in a variety of roles within schools, colleges & academies, Sefton Council, care sector, charities and privatised Public Sector Support Services. Sefton UNISON is a Campaigning Union and supports local, regional, national and international campaigns promoting social justice & rights for all workers.

The Lisbon Bar

We have a long standing partnership with The Lisbon Bar, in Liverpool’s Pride Quarter. We are proud of this partnership, rooting us in the LGBT+ community in Liverpool. We often host socials at The Lisbon, and enjoy a couple of post-match pints (and a delicious buffet) after home games.

The Lisbon is an institution of the LGBT+ community in Liverpool, and we really value our close partnership with them. You’ll find members of our squad there most weekends, and look out for The Lisbon banner at the next LCR Pride march - we won’t be far behind.

Marine AFC

We are delighted to announce a new partnership between Mersey Marauders FC and Marine AFC for the 2022-23 season. We will be playing 20 home games at Marine’s stadium in Crosby over the course of the season. This is a really exciting opportunity for our players to experience playing football at a non-league ground, and for the club to partner with friends in Merseyside who share our values.

Grant Funders

Thanks to funding from the following bodies Mersey Marauders FC have been able to expand significantly in the 2022-23 season.

Magic Little Grants

We received a Magic Little Grant through the partnership between Localgiving and Postcode Neighbourhood Trust. Postcode Neighbourhood Trust is a grant-giving charity funded by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. Localgiving is the UK’s leading membership and support network for local charities and community groups. We received £500 to grow a ‘Development’ team during the 2022-23 season.

Awesome Liverpool

We received £500 of funding from Awesome Liverpool to support the development of a second team. This funding has helped us provide more opportunities for LGBT+ people from across the region to play football.

Partner With Us

We are always looking for new ways to work with organisations who share our values. In the past this has included playing friendly games against us, donating to club-run raffles and helping us with in-kind support (e.g. train tickets to away games). Get in touch and we’ll go from there!
